Accademia Italiana (Thailand) Fashion & Design Institute offers a range of Short Courses designed to upgrade your skills. No special qualifications are required to enroll, unless specified in the course overview.
This step-by-step introductory pattern cutting course will introduce you to the basic techniques for women’s wear pattern cutting. You’ll be working from a template (block) of your own size (or desired size) and you’ll investigate how to manipulate darts on a basic bodice block in order to give shape. You’ll get the opportunity to discuss different styles and how you can alter your patterns to create different shapes.
This course will show you how fashion themes are researched and developed, and encourage you to immerse yourself in all aspects of fashion - from trend prediction and trade fairs, to color and catwalks - to get your creativity flow. Lectures, group activities and workshops will help spark your ideas, and let you push the boundaries of fashion design. The focus is on the latest fashion trends and the application of the same in the developing a collection.

Who decides that the colour this season is “mint green” or that denim jackets are “back?” Of course, there’s top-down fashion, where couture houses and runway shows set a trend that trickles down through the rest of the industry. Trend analysis looks at the interaction of shifts in fashion, consumer lifestyle and culture and means to perceive upcoming trends and predict what consumers are willing to buy several seasons ahead of time. Interpretation and contextualization of socio-cultural knowledge is the key for a successful trend preview that needs to go beyond simple intuition.
Every design project needs to be presented in efficient manner in order to make sure that ideas are communicated clearly. Various graphic representation and sketching techniques that are used in design presentations will be explained and practiced during the course, so that students can have an insight of what graphic techniques and sketching methods are best applied when explaining design projects.
Interior decoration course is designed for people who want to learn how to organize and decorate their space. This course will introduce students with a creative process of organizing floor plan, choosing right size of furniture, theory of colors and how to use them. Decorating tips for making space looks bigger, lighter and main principles of using home assessors.
The Window display design course is designed for Fashion and Interior designers, but also for new comers who are creative, imaginative with strong sense of style and fashion. The Course will introduce students with a creative process of making a display design, from first idea and research through developing the concept and final design. The Students will learn how to draw and organize display space, use correct colour scheme, lighting and window standards. They will develop their design for window display using sketches and model, for final presentation.
This short course will introduce you to basic materials that are commonly used in the field of interior design. You will learn about wood, stone, ceramics, plastic, metals and their application in the world of interior planning.
The short course on trends and styles will give the participants the insight on a series of design styles that prevail until today within the field of interior design, In addition, the latest trends in contemporary interior design will also be discussed and analyzed. The course will specify the definition of a style through the furnishing of various interiors, helping participants to improve their aesthetic sense and creating the basic knowledge needed in order to navigate with confidence in interior décor choices.
