Triumph Inspiration Award 2008 win by Accademia Italiana Thailand

April 1, 2008 – Accademia Italiana was pleased to welcome legendary Milanese designer Elio Fiorucci to Bangkok as a special guest of the school. Mr. Fiorucci spend time with students and faculty of Accademia Italiana to share his insights into the world of fashion and the process of creating inspiring collections and a truly global fashion brand.

Elio Fiorucci is a global leader in creating fashion excitement for the young. The collections of Fiorucci are always innovative and fully immersed in the freedom of expression and the desire for change that are the province of youth. Many fashion labels create interesting clothes, but Elio Fiorucci has shifted fashion paradigms time and again.

As part of his visit to the school, Mr. Fiorucci attended the Thailand finals of the Triumph Inspiration Awards on April 3rd, 2008, hosted by Accademia Italiana. Fashion and design students in more than 25 countries - from Finland to South Africa and from Israel to Thailand - are competing in the first "Triumph Inspiration Award", a global design competition created by lingerie specialist Triumph International. The Award challenges students from prestigious international design schools like Accademia Italiana to create a conceptual lingerie showpiece set dedicated to a special design motto. In its inaugural year, the design motto focuses on "Female Fascination".

Miss Harleen Wongkhattri, the winner of the Thailand national competition, will automatically qualify for the international final in Beijing, where she will have the opportunity to present her piece to an internationally renowned jury.

The international winner, who will be chosen in the summer of 2008 by distinguished experts from the fields of design, fashion and media, will be offered a unique opportunity: in addition to pocketing a cash prize of Euro 15,000 he or she will see their showpiece adapted and interpreted by the Triumph design team, leading to series production of the set.

The finished product, including special hangtags, will be produced and sold as a special limited edition in selected Triumph stores worldwide. It will also be part of a specially decorated shop window celebrating the Award.
